Intracin Fluxane (flunixin meglumine, 50 mg/mL) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat inflammation, pain, and fever in horses, cattle, and pigs.

INDICATIONS

• Horses: Alleviates acute inflammation and pain from musculoskeletal disorders, relieves visceral pain associated with colic, and treats endotoxemia.
• Cattle: Controls fever and inflammation from acute bovine mastitis, bovine respiratory disease (BRD) and endotoxemia. Also used for post-operative pain reduction during dehorning.
• Pigs: Serves as adjunctive therapy for swine respiratory disease, Mastitis-Metritis-Agalactia (MMA) syndrome, post-operative pain from castration, and tail docking.

ADMINISTRATION

• • Cattle: The recommended method is intravenous (IV) injection at a dose of \(2.2 \text{ mg/kg}\) body weight (\(2 \text{ ml}\) per \(45 \text{ kg}\)) for the control of pyrexia and inflammation associated with mastitis, respiratory diseases, and endotoxemia.
  • Horses: Administration can be intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) at a dose of \(1.1 \text{ mg/kg}\) body weight (\(1 \text{ ml}\) per \(45 \text{ kg}\)) daily, for up to 5 days.
  • Colic (Horses): For prompt relief of pain associated with equine colic, intravenous (IV) administration is recommended.
  • Dosage: Treatment may be repeated if symptoms recur.
  • Withdrawal periods: Cattle (Meat: 7 days, Milk: 36 days), Horses (Meat: 7 days).
