Intracin FPPI 20% (Fortified Procaine Penicillin Injection) is a veterinary antibiotic injection used to treat infections caused by bacteria sensitive to penicillin.
INDICATIONS
- Large and Medium Animals (Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Pigs): Pneumonia, abscesses, anthrax, black quarter, calf diphtheria, foot-rot, acute mastitis, urinary tract infections (UTI), open wounds, and post-castration infections.
- Dogs and Cats: Pneumonia, wounds, abscesses, feline enteritis, and secondary infections complicating canine distemper.
ADMINISTRATION
- Route: Deep intramuscular injection.
- Administration: It is to be administered at intervals, as indicated on the product label.
- Withdrawal Period (Meat): 28 days.
- Withdrawal Period (Milk): 7 days.
- Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, protected from light.
Important Safety Information:
- Contraindication: It is contraindicated in animals known to be hypersensitive to active ingredients (penicillin).
- Site: It should be injected into the fleshy part of a thick muscle, such as the rump, hip, or thigh region, avoiding blood vessels and major nerves.
- Technique: A sterile needle and syringe should be used for each injection. It is advisable to pull back on the plunger to ensure a blood vessel has not been entered.
