INDICATIONS

  • Allergic Reactions and Dermatitis: Treatment of allergic dermatitis, flea allergies, atopy (environmental allergies), contact allergies, and hot spots, which often causes intense itching.
  • Autoimmune Diseases: Management of immune-mediated diseases where the immune system destructively attacks healthy cells, including immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA), lupus, pemphigus, and thrombocytopenia.
  • Inflammatory Conditions: Treatment of chronic conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), arthritis, bursitis, and uveitis.
  • Respiratory Conditions: Management of respiratory issues, specifically asthma in cats and chronic bronchitis or allergic bronchitis in dogs.
  • Cancer Treatment: Used in chemotherapy protocols for certain types of cancer, particularly lymphoma and mast cell tumors, to help reduce inflammation around tumors and improve the quality of life.
  • Addison’s Disease (Hypoadrenocorticism): Replacement therapy for animals unable to produce sufficient natural cortisol.
  • Nervous System Disorders: Used to help reduce inflammation and swelling in the brain or spinal cord.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Administer via intramuscular (IM) injection only.
  • Preparation: The vial contents must be dissolved in 10 ml of sterile water for injection before use.
  • Usage: The reconstituted solution should be used immediately after preparation and should not be allowed to freeze.
  • Dosage (Large Animals): 7 mg/kg body weight or 1 ml per 40-45 kg body weight, administered once daily for up to five days.
  • Dosage (Small Animals): 15-25 mg/kg body weight once daily for up to five days.
  • Withdrawal Periods: Be aware of meat (21 days cattle, 35 days sheep/goats, 14 days pigs) and milk (48 hours) withdrawal periods
