Intracin DIMINACIN R.T.U. (Diminazene Aceturate 7% Injection) is a veterinary medicine indicated for the treatment of blood protozoan infections in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs

Intracin DIMINACIN R.T.U. (Diminazene Aceturate 7% Injection) is a veterinary medicine indicated for the treatment of blood protozoan infections in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs.

INDICATIONS

  • Trypanosomiasis: Caused by Trypanosoma congolense, T. vivax, and T. brucei.
  • Babesiosis/Piroplasmosis: Caused by Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. ovis, B. motasi, and B. canis.
  • Theileriosis: Caused by Theileria annulata.
  • Mixed Haemoprotozoan Infections: Effective against multiple concurrent blood parasite infections.

ADMINISTRATION

      • Method: Deep Intramuscular Injection.
      • Dosage: The recommended dose is 3.5 mg of diminazene aceturate per kg of body weight.
      • Practical Dosage: 5 ml of DIMINACIN R.T.U. per 100 kg of body weight. 
      • Maximum Dosage: Not to exceed a total dose of 4 g of active ingredient (56-57 ml) per animal, even if it is heavier.
      • Multiple Injections: If a high volume is needed, divide the dosage and inject at different sites in the neck to avoid local reactions.
      • Contraindications: Do not use in camels.

    • Withdrawal Times:
      • Meat: 21 days.
      • Milk: 3 days.
