INDICATIONS
- Protozoal Infections: Indicated for the treatment of Giardia (giardiasis), canker, and other protozoal infections.
- Anaerobic Bacterial Infections: Effective against Clostridium spp. and other anaerobic bacteria.
- Gastrointestinal Disorders: Used to manage diarrhea and inflammatory conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or colitis, often associated with bacterial overgrowth or suspected infection.
- Targeted Species: Common for use in companion animals (dogs, cats), horses, and specifically indicated for cage birds to treat parasitic infections.
ADMINISTRATION
Often administered in drinking water (e.g., 2 teaspoons per quart for 5 days).
Contraindications and Precautions:
- Not for Food-Producing Animals: Do not use in birds, animals, or livestock intended for human consumption.
- Pregnancy: It should be avoided in pregnant animals, especially in the first trimester.
