Intracin MARBACIN 10% (Marbofloxacin 10% w/v) is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic injectable solution used for treating bacterial infections in cattle and pigs (sows).
INDICATIONS
- Cattle: Treats respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica, and Histophilus somni. It is also used for E. coli acute mastitis during lactation.
- Pigs (Sows): Indicated for Metritis Mastitis Agalactia (MMA/PDS) syndrome.
- Action & Spectrum: Bactericidal, targeting DNA gyrase to combat various Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.
ADMINISTRATION
Route: It is typically administered via intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, with a recommended dose of 2 mg/kg of body weight 1 mL/50 kg daily, for 3–5 days. Withdrawal periods :
- Cattle: Meat and offal – 6 days; Milk – 36 hours.
- Pigs: Meat and offal – 4 days
