Intracin INITRO (a 34% w/v Nitroxynil injection) is primarily a veterinary anthelmintic and fasciolicide. It is used to treat parasitic infections in livestock and companion animals.
INDICATIONS
- Liver Fluke Infestations: Treatment of Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica in cattle, sheep, and goats.
- Gastrointestinal Parasitism: Efficacy against roundworms such as Haemonchus (barber pole worm), Oesophagostomum, and Bunostomum.
- Nasal Bots: Treatment of Oestrus ovis infestations in sheep and camels.
- Hookworms: Treatment of hookworm infections in dogs.
ADMINISTRATION
- Route: Administered via subcutaneous injection.
- Standard Dosage:
- Cattle, Sheep, Goats, and Camels: 1 ml per 35 kg body weight. This can be increased to 1.25 ml per 35 kg body weight for acute, immature fascioliasis.
- Dogs: 0.30 ml per 10 kg body weight
- Milk Ban: Do not use in animals producing milk intended for human consumption.
- Meat Withdrawal: Meat withdrawal times are 60 days for cattle and 49 days for sheep.
