Intracin CLOSIN 10% (Closantel 10% w/v Injection) is a veterinary antiparasitic medication used in cattle and sheep to treat and control internal and external parasites.
INDICATIONS
- Liver Fluke Infections: Effective against adult and juvenile (6-8 weeks) Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica.
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Treats adult and fourth-stage larvae of major worms, including Ostertagia ostertagi, Haemonchus placei (Barber’s pole worm), Trichostrongylus species, Cooperia species, Bunostomum phlebotomum, and Oesophagostomum radiatum.
- Lungworms: Controls Dictyocaulus viviparus.
- External Parasites/Arthropods: Treats cattle grub (parasitic stages of Hypoderma bovis, H. lineatum), sucking lice (Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurysternus), and mange mites (Psoroptes ovis, Sarcoptes scabiei var. bovis).
ADMINISTRATION
- Species: Cattle and Sheep.
- Route: Subcutaneous injection.
- Dosage: Generally \(1 \text{ ml}\) per \(50 \text{ kg}\) body weight, though instructions should be verified on the product label.
Withdrawal Periods:
- Meat: Typically 49 to 77 days depending on the specific manufacturing guidelines.
