Intracin’s IMOLY 5% is a broad-spectrum oxytetracycline hydrochloride injection indicated to treat and control bacterial infections across various animal species.
INDICATIONS
- Animals Treated: Horses, cattle, camels, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats.
- Bacterial Infections: Treats infections caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms (including Staphylococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Mannheimia haemolytica, Haemophilus parahaemolyticus, and Bordetella bronchiseptica).
- Specific Conditions: Used for the treatment of enzootic abortion in sheep (caused by Chlamydophila abortus).
ADMINISTRATION
- Dose Range: 5 mg to 10 mg of oxytetracycline per kg of body weight for 3 to 5 days.
- Administration Route: Can be administered via intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV), or subcutaneous (SC) injection depending on the animal.
Key Contraindications and Warnings
- Concomitant Therapy: Do not administer to horses undergoing concurrent therapy with corticosteroids.
- Lactation Restrictions: Not to be used in sheep producing milk intended for human consumption.
- Meat Restrictions: Not intended for horses raised for human consumption.
- Side Effects: A transient, temporary swelling may occur at the injection site in horses and dogs.
