Intracin DCLAT 500 WS (Doxycycline Hyclate 50% Water Soluble Powder) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal and respiratory infections.
INDICATIONS
Target Species
- Calves (pre-ruminant)
- Goats
- Sheep
- Poultry (Broilers and Layers)
- Swine
Specific Applications
- Respiratory Infections: Pneumonia, broncho-pneumonia, and other respiratory diseases.
- Gastrointestinal Infections: Enteritis, colibacillosis, and salmonellosis.
- Other Sensitive Infections: Infections caused by Chlamydia or Rickettsia.
ADMINISTRATION
Administered orally, typically mixed into drinking water or milk.
- Calves, Sheep, and Goats: Twice daily at a dose of 1 gram per 100 kg} body weight for 3-5 days.
- Pigs and Poultry: 1 kg per 5,000-10,000 litres of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Contraindications and Warnings
- Hypersensitivity: Do not use in animals known to be allergic to tetracyclines.
- Hepatic Impairment: Avoid use in animals with seriously impaired hepatic function.
- Active Microbial Digestion: Not recommended for ruminating cattle (animals with active microbial digestion).
- Drug Interactions: Do not combine with penicillins, cephalosporins, quinolones, or cycloserine.
