Intracin’s DIMINACIN R.T.U. (diminazene aceturate 7% injection) is used to treat and control haemoprotozoan infections, including trypanosomiasis, babesiosis (piroplasmosis), and theileriosis in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Trypanosomiasis: Treatment of infections caused by Trypanosoma congolense, T. vivax, and T. brucei.
- Babesiosis / Piroplasmosis: Treatment of tick-borne parasitic infections, including Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. ovis, B. motasi, and B. canis.
- Theileriosis: Treatment of theilerial infections, such as those caused by Theileria annulata.
ADMINISTRATION
- Administration: Deep Intramuscular Injection.
- Dosage: The recommended dose is 3.5 mg of diminazene aceturate per kg body weight, generally administered as 5 ml per 100 kg body weight.
- Withdrawal Time: 21 days for meat and 3 days for milk.
- Contraindications: Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to diminazene or phenazone, or in animals with impaired renal or hepatic function.
