Intracin DIMINACIN R.T.U. (Diminazene Aceturate 7% Injection) is a veterinary medicine indicated for the treatment of blood protozoan infections in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Trypanosomiasis: Caused by Trypanosoma congolense, T. vivax, and T. brucei.
- Babesiosis/Piroplasmosis: Caused by Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. ovis, B. motasi, and B. canis.
- Theileriosis: Caused by Theileria annulata.
- Mixed Haemoprotozoan Infections: Effective against multiple concurrent blood parasite infections.
ADMINISTRATION
- Method: Deep Intramuscular Injection.
- Dosage: The recommended dose is 3.5 mg of diminazene aceturate per kg of body weight.
- Practical Dosage: 5 ml of DIMINACIN R.T.U. per 100 kg of body weight.
- Maximum Dosage: Not to exceed a total dose of 4 g of active ingredient (56-57 ml) per animal, even if it is heavier.
- Multiple Injections: If a high volume is needed, divide the dosage and inject at different sites in the neck to avoid local reactions.
- Contraindications: Do not use in camels.
- Withdrawal Times:
- Meat: 21 days.
- Milk: 3 days.
