Intracin TWIN-PGS (Benzylpenicillin Injection) is a veterinary antibiotic indicated for treating bacterial infections caused by penicillin-sensitive organisms in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Cattle: Treatment of mastitis, metritis, actinomycosis, anthrax, black lag (blackleg), tetanus, and hemorrhagic septicaemia.
- Horses: Treatment of strangles, corynebacterial pneumonia, and tetanus in foals.
- Sheep and Goat: Treatment of tetanus, foot rot, and malignant oedema.
- Dogs: Treatment of rickettsiosis, tetanus, and wound infections.
- Pigs: Treatment of erysipelas.
ADMINISTRATION
- Route: intramuscular (IM) injection.
- Dosage: Generally 20,000 I.U. per kg of body weight, administered every 6–8 hours, though sheep, goats, and dogs may require 20,000–40,000 I.U. per kg
- Contraindicated in Small Animals: Do not use in cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, or similar small animals.
- Hypersensitivity: Do not use in animals known to be hypersensitive to penicillins.
- Withdrawal Periods: Observe strict withdrawal times: Cattle meat (4 days), Sheep/Pigs meat (6 days), Calves/Preruminating (7 days), and Milk (48 hours).
