Intracin TROXIN 3g (Ceftriaxone Sodium for Injection BP) is a broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for livestock, horses, and small animals.
INDICATIONS
- Respiratory Tract Infections: Broncho-pneumonia and shipping fever.
- Genitourinary Infections: Nephritis, cystitis, endometritis, metritis, and pyometra.
- Mastitis: Treatment of udder infections.
- Septicemia and Bacteremia: Bacterial meningitis and generalized septicemia.
- Soft Tissue & Local Infections: Actinobacillosis and general wound infections.
- Perioperative Prophylaxis: Used before (preoperative) and after (postoperative) surgery to prevent infection.
ADMINISTRATION
- Large Animals: Cattle, Buffalo, and Horses.
- Small Animals: Calves, Goats, Sheep, Dogs, and Cats.
- Route: Intramuscular (I.M.) or Intravenous (I.V.).
- Dosage: The 3g powder is typically reconstituted with 10 ml of Sterile Water for Injection, with dosages adjusted based on weight (e.g., 7.5-25ml/50kg for large animals, 1.5-5ml/10kg for small animals/dogs).
