Modern Biotech Spectinomycin Injection is an aminocyclitol antibiotic used for treating bacterial infections in livestock.

INDICATIONS

• Cattle & Calves: Treatment of bovine respiratory disease (pneumonia) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Histophilus somni.
• Swine (Pigs): Treatment of bacterial enteritis (white scours) and other infections caused by E. coli or Salmonella.
• Poultry (Chickens & Turkeys): Control of mortality associated with Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum or E. coli.
• Sheep & Goats: Treatment of pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections.
• Small Animals (Dogs & Cats): Used in some contexts for treating respiratory and gastrointestinal infections

ADMINISTRATION

• Method: Clean the injection site, pull back on the plunger (aspirate) to ensure the needle is not in a blood vessel before injecting.
• Species-Specifics: Piglets (under 3 days) often receive 0.25 ml/pig. Poultry may receive 1-5 mg per bird.
• Dosage Frequency: Often administered once daily for 3–5 days.
• Safety Note: Spectinomycin is an irritant to muscle tissue; ensure deep IM injection.
