Intracin PROFEN (Ketoprofen 100 mg/ml) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and painful conditions in horses, cattle, and pigs.
INDICATIONS
- Musculoskeletal/Joint conditions: Inflammatory and painful conditions affecting bones, joints, and the musculoskeletal system (including lameness, arthritis, naviculitis, and tendonitis).
- Gastrointestinal: Symptomatic treatment and management of colic.
- Post-surgery: Used for managing post-surgical inflammation.
- Respiratory conditions: Used for the treatment of acute respiratory infections.
- Mastitis: Used alongside antibiotics/antimicrobials to treat acute clinical mastitis.
- Respiratory conditions: Indicated for the treatment of respiratory infections.
- Sows: Used to manage Mastitis-Metritis-Agalactia (MMA) syndrome.
ADMINISTRATION
- Can be given via intravenous or deep intramuscular routes, but always consult the Intracin PROFEN Documentation for exact weight-based dosing per species.
- Contraindications: Should not be used in animals with pre-existing cardiac, hepatic, or renal disease, or in those showing a known hypersensitivity to ketoprofen.
- Also contraindicated for use alongside other NSAIDs or within a 24-hour window of administration of other NSAIDs.
- Safety in Pregnancy: Do not use in pregnant mares or in dairy cattle intended to calve within 60 days (depending on the specific formulation).
