Elanco Veraflox (pradofloxacin) oral suspension is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic specifically formulated for treatment of skin infections in cats, including wounds and abscesses.
INDICATIONS
Skin infections: Specifically wounds and abscesses caused by susceptible strains of:
- Pasteurella multocida
- Streptococcus canis
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Staphylococcus felis
- Staphylococcus pseudintermedius
ADMINISTRATION
- Method: The liquid should be slowly squirted into the side of the cat’s mouth, aiming towards the back of the throat to ensure swallowing.
- Dosage Accuracy: Use the supplied 3 ml syringe (with 0.1 ml graduations) to ensure the precise dose.
- Frequency: Once daily, or as directed by a veterinarian.
- Food Intake: It is best absorbed on an empty stomach; however, it can be given with food if vomiting or loss of appetite occurs.
- Shelf Life: The suspension is stable for 60 days after opening.
- Safety Note: Do not use in young animals (safety not evaluated under 12 weeks), pregnant, or nursing cats.
