Intracin MELOXIN-20 (Meloxicam 20 mg/mL) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) injection indicated for use in cattle to provide anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic (fever-reducing), and analgesic (pain-relieving) effects.

INDICATIONS

• Respiratory Infections: Used in acute respiratory infections to reduce clinical signs, typically in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy.
• Diarrhea: Used to treat diarrhea in calves over one week of age and young, non-lactating cattle, in combination with oral rehydration therapy.
• Mastitis: Used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of acute mastitis, along with antibiotic therapy.
• Pain Relief: Indicated for the alleviation of pain, specifically for post-operative pain relief following dehorning in calves.
• Abdominal Surgery: Used for reducing pain associated with abdominal surgeries, such as a caesarean section.

ADMINISTRATION

• Cattle:
  • Route: Administered as a single injection either subcutaneously (under the skin) or intravenously (into the vein).
  • Dosage: 2.5 mL per 100 kg body weight (equivalent to 0.5 mg meloxicam per kg). For very young calves weighing less than 50 kg, use 0.5 mL per 20 kg body weight.

• Pigs:
  • Route: Administered by intramuscular injection, typically in the anterior neck.
  • Dosage: 2.0 mL per 100 kg body weight (equivalent to 0.4 mg meloxicam per kg). If necessary, a second dose can be given after 24 hours.
  • Withdrawal Periods:
    • Meat and offal: 15 days.
    • Milk: 5 days
