CLOSIN 5% (Closantel Injection 5% w/v) by Intracin is a veterinary antiparasitic agent designed for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites in cattle, sheep, and goats.
INDICATIONS
- Liver Flukes: Treatment and control of adult and juvenile (immature) liver flukes (Fasciola spp.) at 6–8 weeks.
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Effective against adult and fourth-stage larvae of major nematodes, including:
- Haemonchus placei and Haemonchus contortus (Barber’s pole worm).
- Oesophagostomum radiatum.
- Trichostrongylus axei and T. colubriformis.
- Ostertagia ostertagi and O. lyrata.
- Cooperia oncophora, C. punctata, and C. pectinata.
- Bunostomum phlebotomum.
- Nematodirus helvetianus (adults only).
- External Parasites: Treatment of nasal bot (Oestrus ovis) in sheep.
ADMINISTRATION
- Route: It is administered via subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
- Action: It provides control against both adult and immature stages of parasites.
- Sustained Action: It is used for long-acting control, particularly against re-infestation of Haemonchus.
