CLOSIN 5% (Closantel Injection 5% w/v) by Intracin is a veterinary antiparasitic agent designed for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites in cattle, sheep, and goats.

INDICATIONS

• Liver Flukes: Treatment and control of adult and juvenile (immature) liver flukes (Fasciola spp.) at 6–8 weeks.
• Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Effective against adult and fourth-stage larvae of major nematodes, including:
  • • Haemonchus placei and Haemonchus contortus (Barber’s pole worm).
    • Oesophagostomum radiatum.
    • Trichostrongylus axei and T. colubriformis.
    • Ostertagia ostertagi and O. lyrata.
    • Cooperia oncophora, C. punctata, and C. pectinata.
    • Bunostomum phlebotomum.
    • Nematodirus helvetianus (adults only).

• External Parasites: Treatment of nasal bot (Oestrus ovis) in sheep.

ADMINISTRATION

• Route: It is administered via subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
• Action: It provides control against both adult and immature stages of parasites.
• Sustained Action: It is used for long-acting control, particularly against re-infestation of Haemonchus.
